UNCG Athletics Teams Up Once Again With FOX8 Gifts For Kids

GREENSBORO, N.C. – UNCG Athletics and WGHP FOX8 are teaming up once again for the FOX8 Gifts for Kids campaign to assist families in the Piedmont area during the holiday season. UNCG and FOX8 have been teaming up for over 15 years for this community service campaign which focuses on the power of small donations from UNCG fans and the surrounding community.

In working with The Salvation Armies of the Piedmont, the purpose of Gifts for Kids is to collect holiday gifts for children in the Triad whose families are in need.  In 2011, more than 24,000 children in the Piedmont received presents as a result of the effort. The athletics campaign is run by the Student-Athlete-Advisory Council (SAAC) and raised $4,400 in cash and gift donations.
 
This year, UNCG fans can contribute to the FOX8 Gifts for Kids campaign in numerous ways:

Nov. 28 – Men’s Basketball vs. North Carolina A&T at the Greensboro Coliseum

Fans who bring new, unwrapped gifts to the game and will get a buy one, get one deal for ticket purchase to the game, plus a voucher for two free tickets to a women’s basketball game.

Additionally, $1 for every ticket sold for the UNCG/N.C. A&T game will go to the FOX8 Gifts for Kids campaign.

Dec. 3 – Monetary and new unwrapped toys will be collected in the EUC Lobby on campus from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. with student-athletes on hand to accept the donations.
