UNCG baseball season tickets go on sale Tuesday

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Season tickets for the 2010 UNC Greensboro baseball season, which will feature 35 home games, go on sale beginning Tuesday, Jan. 26.

Adult season tickets will cost $84, while senior (ages 55 and up) and youth (ages 3-17) season tickets will cost $50 for the 2010 season. Families can purchase a four-pack of season tickets (two adult and two youth tickets) for a discounted rate of $218, as well. The season ticket packages include all of the UNCG home games at UNCG Baseball Stadium this season and the annual tilt against North Carolina A&T at NewBridge Bank Park, this year slated for March 31.

The university also announced single-game ticket prices and confirmed the return of "Freebie Fridays." Single-game tickets will go on sale next Monday, Feb. 1. Single-game tickets will cost $5 for adults and $3 for senior and youth tickets. Groups of 10 or more can purchase tickets at $2 each on a single-game basis.

Freebie Fridays began last season, allowing fans to come to the game for free each Friday. This year there are seven home games on Friday, beginning with the opener against Cleveland State on February 19. The promotion is geared towards parents taking their kid to a game for free on a Friday afternoon or evening during tougher economic times.

Fans can also purchase a SoCon Plan, which consists of the five home Southern Conference series - this year featuring Davidson, College of Charleston, Wofford, Furman and Elon. Those tickets are $30 for adults and $20 for senior and youth tickets.

The Spartans open the season with a three-game series with Cleveland State on Feb. 19, 20 and 21 and will play 19 of their first 21 games at UNCG Baseball Stadium. The Spartans will host 2009 College World Series qualifier North Carolina on March 24 as part of a home-and-home series this season. Wake Forest will also visit UNCG on May 12 to complete a home-and-home.
