Prior to UNCG: Played the last two seasons at Guilford Technical Community College for head coach John Barrow … Appeared in nine games for the Titans and had a 3.68 ERA while striking out 59 batters as a sophomore (2012) ... was impressive against powerhouse Pitt Community College, scattering six hits over seven innings and striking out 10 en route to his fourth victory of the season and a 5-2 Titan win … allowed just one home run in in 78.1 innings pitched … competed in the Coastal Plains League in the summer of 2011 & 2012 for the Thomasville Hi Toms.  

High School: Versatile athlete who pitched and played first base for Southern Alamance High School under head coach Jason Smith … earned All-Metro 4A honors.
