Oleksiak named TIAA-CREF Student-Athlete of the Week
SPARTANBURG, SC – The Southern Conference announced Wednesday the naming of UNC Greensboro sophomore guard Kevin Oleksiak as the TIAA-CREF Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Dec. 7.
The Abington, PA, product scored a career-high 23 points in the Spartans’ 78-70 win over in-state and Conference USA foe East Carolina Tuesday night in Greenville. On the night, Oleksiak was 5-for-6 from beyond the arc and chipped in with three rebounds and two assists.
In UNCG’s conference opener against College of Charleston, Oleksiak was limited to two points, but dished out a career-high assists in the Spartans’ 72-58 win over the Cougars.
For the season, Oleksiak has posted double-digit scoring efforts in six of the Spartans eight contests this year after recording just three in the 2004-05 campaign.
A communications major, Oleksiak boasts a 3.26 grade point average in the classroom.

Oleksiak and UNCG return to the court Sunday when the Spartans welcome Gardner-Webb to Fleming Gymnasium. Tip-off between the Spartans and Bulldogs is set for 2 pm.
