Hines named media's pre-season Player of the Year, UNCG first in North
GREENSBORO, NC – UNC Greensboro senior forward Kyle Hines was selected by the media as the preseason Player of the Year and the Spartans were picked atop the conference’s North Division when the Southern Conference Sports Media Association’s preseason selections were announced on Wednesday.
UNCG received 12 of 22 first place votes to edge out Appalachian State for the top spot in the North Division. Davidson was a unanimous choice among the 22 voters in the South Division.
In the North, Western Carolina was chosen third, followed by Chattanooga and Elon. In the South, College of Charleston was second, followed by Georgia Southern, Wofford, Furman and The Citadel.
