Stamey and Lowder in striking distance, Spartans sixth after two rounds at Orange County National
ORLANDO, Fla. – With Nathan Stamey and Jake Lowder both in contention for the individual title, UNC Greensboro sits in sixth place after two rounds at the Orange County National men’s golf tournament.
Both Stamey and Lowder fired even-par 72 in the morning rounds. Stamey then followed with a 69 in the afternoon, while Lowder shot 70. Stamey will begin Sunday’s third and final round five shots of the pace, Lowder six shots back. Lamar’s Justin Harding sits atop the leader bour after shooting a pair of 68’s on Saturday.
Lamar shot an unbelievable 26-under par on Saturday to hold a commanding 22-shot lead in the team standings. All five of Lamar’s player’s are in the Top 10 for the individual title. Along with Harding’s pair of 68’s, Andrew Landry, Dusty Smith and Casey Clendenon all shot rounds below 70 on Saturday. Lamar finished with a two-round total of 550.
Eastern Michigan is second at 572. UNCG sits in sixth place, carding a two-round team score of 578 on Saturday.
