UNCG seventh after two rounds at Cowboy Classic

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – With rounds of 69 and 68 on Monday, UNC Greensboro’s J.D. Bass led the Spartans to a seventh place standing after two rounds at the Cowboy Classic at Talking Stick Golf Club’s North Course.

Bass is fourth after 36 holes, sitting three-under par. UC-Santa Barbara’s Joe Ryon leads the tournament, after carding rounds of 65 and 68 on Monday. He has a two-shot lead over UC Davis’ Nate Pistacchio. Bass trails Ryon by four shots. UNCG’s Nathan Stamey and Nick Baker are both two-over par.

UC Davis has the team lead with a score of 554, two shots better than UC Santa Barbara. UNCG is seventh in the 23-team field with 570 after rounds of 286 and 284.

Tuesday’s third round gets underway at 8 am Mountain Standard Time.
