Stamey 14th, Spartans 10th after two rounds at Memphis Intercollegiate

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Nathan Stamey sits at even-par after 36 holes and is in a tie for 14th place as UNC Greensboro is tied for 10th after two rounds at the Memphis Intercollegiate, which is being played at the prestigious Colonial Country Club.

Stamey fired a 71 in the morning and 73 in the afternoon to sit six shots off the lead entering Tuesday’s final round. South Alabama’s Kyle Simmons has a one shot lead over South Florida’s Tyler Hitchcock at the top of the individual leaderboard. David Heyen also had a strong day for UNCG on Monday, firing a pair of rounds of 74 to sit in a tie for 29th place.

The Spartans are tied for 10th, shooting 298 as a team in both of Monday’s rounds to sit deadlocked with Nebraska. Louisville leads the team standings with a comfortable 13 shot lead after carding 563 on Monday. Wisconsin and TCU are tied for second at 576.

Tuesday’s final round gets underway at 8 am central time.
