Final two rounds at Mason Rudolph scrapped by weather
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Inclement weather forced the cancellation of the final two rounds of the 2007 Mason Rudolph Intercollegiate, making day one leader Ole Miss the team champion of the event at the Vanderbilt Legends Club of Tennessee.
Teams played between two and 11 holes on Monday morning before play was suspended due to rain, and weather conditions in the area prevented the event from resuming on Tuesday.
Play was scheduled to resume at 8 a.m. CT on Tuesday morning. All 93 players were on the course when play was halted around 2:45 p.m. Monday due to heavy rain. After consulting forecasts for the remainder of the day, tournament organizers decided to stop Monday’s play. However, the weather did not cooperate on Tuesday either, forcing tournament officials to cancel play for the second straight day.
A two-hour delay that began around 11:30 a.m. caused problems on Monday morning, but Legends’ staff was able to get the course back to playing shape until the weather turned foul again.
UNCG finished the abbreviated tournament tied for 17th place. Nathan Stamey finished his only complete round in 13th place
