Chapman's shoots second straight 69 to sit seventh at Puerto Rico

GREENSBORO, N.C.- UNC Greensboro's Colin Chapman fired his second consecutive round of 69 on Monday to sit in a tie for seventh entering Tuesday's final round at the Puerto Rico Classic hosted by Purdue University.

The Spartans are in 15th place in the team standings after carding a 298 on Monday for a 36-hole total of 592. Texas is at the head of the team leaderboard with a score of 546, shooting a blistering 269 on Monday. The Longhorns are eight shots ahead of second-place Oklahoma State and 15 better than third-place Clemson.

Chapman, a sophomore from Franklin, N.C., equaled his season-best score for the second straight day and sits seven shots off the lead in a four-way tie for seventh place. Texas' Cody Gribble leads at 12-under par 132, one shot ahead of Georgia's Harris English and Oklahoma State's Kevin Tway, son of PGA Tour member Bob Tway. Chapman is tied with Clemson's Ben Martin, Northwestern's David Lipsky, and Texas' Dylan Frittelli at six-under par 138.

Chapman, who transferred last summer to UNCG from Division III Oglethorpe College, will go looking Tuesday for his first Topp 10 finish as a Spartan. Tuesday's final round will be a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m. Atlantic time.
