GRASONVILLE, Md. - With four golfers in the Top 10 in the individual standings, UNC Greensboro sits atop the leaderboard after two rounds at the Fireline Towson Invitiational at Prospect Bay CC.
Ryan Heisey is in second place, Robert Hoadley is fifth and Colin Chapman and Will Bowman are tied for 10th place entering Sunday's final round. That led UNCG to a five-shot lead in the team standings over Kent State and a 21-shot advantage over Campbell.
Towson's Nyasha Mauchaza carded rounds of 70 and 72 for two-under 142 through 36 holes. Heisey and Campbell's Mitch Gray are tied for second, one shot behind. Hoadley is three shots off the pace, while Chapman and Bowman are five shots behind the leader.
UNCG led entering the final round in this same tournament two years ago. The Spartans finished third in that tournament, which at the time was only a 36-hole event. UNCG will be looking for its second tournament title of the season. UNCG won the Georgetown Intercollegiate back in October in Beallsville, Md., its first win since October 2006.
