Bowman narrowly misses cut at USGA's U.S. Amateur Championship
UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. – Former Spartan Will Bowman birdied his final two holes, but it was one shot shy as he and sophomore Matt Younts missed the cut at the U.S. Amateur Championship on Tuesday.
Bowman, who finished his eligibility last season with the Spartans, carded a second round 72 on the Home Course Tuesday afternoon and then had to play the waiting game to see if his 36-hole score of 150 was enough to sneak under the cut of 64 players to make the match play phase of the championship. However, it wasn't quite enough to advance to Wednesday.
Younts shot a second round 77 after an opening round 78 to miss the cut by six shots.
