Hoadley, Clement lead UNCG to sixth after two rounds at Gary Koch Invitational

TAMPA, Fla. – Robert Hoadley's two solid rounds of 72 and 71 and Justin Clement's strong second round 68 on Saturday afternoon led UNCG to a tie for sixth place after two rounds at the Gary Koch Invitational.

 

The Spartans shot rounds of 294 and 287 for a 36-hole total of 581, tied with North Florida for sixth place. Virginia has a commanding lead entering Sunday's final round after rounds of 282 and 274 on Saturday. The Cavaliers led Florida State and Auburn by 16 shots. Coastal Carolina and Middle Tennessee State are tied for fourth place at 578.

 

Clement bounced back from a morning round of 74, to shoot four-under par 68 in the afternoon and move into a tie for 12th place. Hoadley's two solid rounds put him in a tie for 15th place at one-under par 143.

 

Virginia's Ben Kohles is the individual leader at 12-under par. He has a three-shot lead over North Carolina's Jack Fields entering Sunday's final round.

 

UNCG's groups will go off the No. 1 tee beginning at 8 a.m. Sunday.
