UNCG concludes play at Bridgestone Golf Collegiate

GREENSBORO, N.C. — UNCG men's golf team fired a final round 302 and finished tied for 12th at the Bridgestone Golf Collegiate, Sunday at Forest Oaks Country Club.

The Spartans finished the two-round tournament at 598 (296-302), tying with Georgia State. Iowa State won the team championship by shooting 285 on Sunday and finishing the tournament at 582, five strokes ahead of second place NC State (587). Virginia Tech (591), Mississippi State (591) and South Carolina (592) round out the top five teams.

NC State's Albin Choi earned individual medalist honors, shooting 69 on Sunday and finishing play at 5-under par 139.

Andy Knox paced the Spartans, finishing at 2-under par 142 (71-71). Will Almand tied for 34th at 150 (74-76) while Robert Hoadley tied for 43rd at 151 (74-77).

Colin Chapman tied for 67th at 155 (77-78), and Alex Ehlert tied for 72nd at 156 (78-78).

Three Spartans played as individuals. Roy Dixon tied for 56th at 153 (74-79), while Alex Simmons finished 79th at 160 (80-80). Matt Younts finished 84th at 166 (89-77).
