Men's Golf Opens Play At Tar Heel Intercollegiate
GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNCG men's golf team opens the 2012-13 season this weekend taking part in the Tar Heel Intercollegiate Saturday and Sunday at the UNC Finley Golf Course in Chapel Hill, N.C. The two-day, 54-hole tournament begins Saturday with 36 holes before concluding Sunday with 18 holes.
The Spartans will be joined in the Tar Heel Intercollegiate by Boston College, Duke, East Carolina, East Tennessee State, Furman, Gardner-Webb, Maryland, NC State, Charlotte, UNCW, Notre Dame, VCU and host UNC. Live scoring will be offered on Golf Stat with a link available all weekend on

th-year head coach Terrance Stewart, returns four letterwinners from last year's team. Sophomore
Alex Ehlert (Raleigh, N.C./Athens Drive) played in a team-high 34 rounds last season and recorded a 74.91 stroke average, which is the top average among the four returners. Senior
Robert Hoadley (Southern Pines, N.C./Union Pines) played in 31 rounds last year, including the individual title at the Wolfpack Invitational (Oct. 3-4) as he posted a three-round score of 209 (69-68-72).
Sophomore
Roy Dixon (Salisbury, N.C./Salisbury) returns after playing in 25 rounds, posting a 76.12 stroke average with a three-round low score of 220 (68-73-79) at the VCU Shootout. Rounding out the returners is senior
Matt Younts (Stokesdale, N.C./Northwest Guilford) who played in five rounds last year.
