PHOENIX, Ariz. – The UNCG men's golf team concluded play in the Snowman Getaway Tuesday, playing the final 18-holes at the Palm Valley Golf Club hosted by Washington State. The Spartans finished the 54-hole event in a tie for 12th place with a score of 904 (304-298-302) while Missouri took home the top event with a score of 853 (280-285-288).
Senior Robert Hoadley (Southern Pines, N.C./Union Pines) led the Spartans in the lineup finishing tied for 39th with a three-round score of 7-over par 222 (77-70-75). Freshman Taylor Coalson (Dobson, N.C./North Surry) finished in a tie for 35th place as an individual with a 6-over par 221 (76-73-72).
Sophomore Roy Dixon (Salisbury, N.C./Salisbury) was consistent all week posting a 9-over par 225 as he shot a 75 in each round on the par-72 course. Classmate Alex Ehlert (Raleigh, N.C./Athens Drive) carded an 11-over par 227 (73-78-76) finishing 61st.
Freshman Luke Haithcock (Burlington, N.C./Williams) posted a 230 score (79-75-76) while senior Matt Younts (Stokesdale, N.C./Northwest Guilford) carded a 236 (79-78-79).
The Spartans return to action March 10-12 as they return to North Carolina to play in the prestigious Pinehurst Intercollegiate.
