Men’s Golf Earns 2011-12 Team Academic Award
GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNCG men’s golf program was named an All-Academic Team national recipient by the Golf Coaches Association of America presented by Farmers Insurance (GCAA) Friday. The Spartans are one of 124 teams across all NCAA levels and just one of 68 NCAA Division I teams recognized for having a team GPA of 3.00 or higher. DEL MAR, Puerto Rico – Freshman Andy Knox and sophomore Robert Hoadley repeated Sunday’s performances with 1-over-par 73s on Monday to move the UNCG men’s golf team up a spot in the 15-team Puerto Rico Classic. The Spartans are alone in 11th – ahead of four of the top 33 teams in the most recent national rankings – through 36 of the event’s 54 holes.
