Randi Patterson named SoCon Player of the Month
SPARTANBURG, SC – UNC Greensboro junior Randi Patterson was named the Southern Conference Men’s Soccer Player of the Month on Thursday for his outstanding play in the month of September.
Patterson, a native of Hackensack, NJ, tallied 20 points on nine goals and two assists for the month to lead UNCG to a 6-3-0 record during the first part of the season and a Top 25 ranking. He scored a career-high three goals in a win over Charlotte in the first week of the season.
The candidate for the Hermann Award is currently fourth in the nation in goals per game and fifth in the nation in points per game. He currently has 22 points (10g, 2a) after scoring the game-winner in UNCG’s 2-0 win over Appalachian State on Tuesday.
UNCG hosts Davidson on Friday in a key SoCon matchup at 7 pm at UNCG Soccer Stadium.
