Jones, Patterson named to CSN's First-Team Preseason All-American squad

GREENSBORO, NC – UNC Greensboro seniors Randi Patterson and Scott Jones have been named to College Soccer News’ Preseason All-American squad as first-team selections.

Patterson, a forward, is a native of Hackensack, NJ. He is a two-time All-American selection, earning first-team honors in 2004 and second-team honors last year. He enters this season with 113 career points and is just two goals shy of 50 for his career. He ranked in the Top 10 in the nation in goals and points last year with a SoCon leading 18 goals and 44 points. The Southern Conference Player of the Year in 2004 and 2005, Patterson is expected to be a candidate for the Hermann Award, College Soccer’s National Player of the Year honor.

Jones, a midfielder, is a product of Dallas, TX. He also is a two-time All-American honoree, having earned second-team accolades from CSN each of the last two years. Last season, Jones was seventh in the nation in assists, leading UNCG with 14. He is also an Academic All-American candidate and is also expected to be a candidate for the Hermann Award, College Soccer’s National Player of the Year honor.

UNCG opens the regular season on Friday, August 25 against Jacksonville at 7 pm.
