The Spartans continue their four-match homestand on Saturday night when they host Navy. The teams will be meeting for the first time since 1992. UNCG has won both previous meetings with the Mids, 3-1 in 1991 and 4-2 in 1992. Navy is one of 15 unbeaten, untied teams left in the nation entering Thursday's action.

UNCG has won five in a row at UNCG Soccer Stadium during regular season action. (The North Carolina match this year was an exhibition). UNCG's last loss at home was to College of Charleston on Oct. 10, 2009.

UNCG is coming off an impressive 2-1 win over William & Mary on Wednesday night. The Spartans handed the Tribe their first loss of the season. William & Mary came into the match getting votes in the NSCAA poll, ranked No. 23 in the Top Drawer Soccer poll and No. 25 in Soccer America. But Fannar Arnarsson scored with 7:15 to play to break a 1-1 tie. Hakan Ilhan scored UNCG's first goal, his second of the year, midway through the first half to erase an early William & Mary tally.

Navy is off to a 4-0-0 start for the first time since 1990, following Wednesday's win over Delaware. That snapped a four-game road losing skid for the Mids. Michael Rakoczy scored twice in the win for Navy. Delaware actually outshot Navy, 17-9, in the contest. Navy was whistled for offsides 10 times in the match.

The Mids are one of the top-scoring teams in the country, ranking fourth nationally averaging 3.25 goals per game, and have outscored their opponents, 13-2. Navy was shutout in its last six matches of the 2009 season. The Mids haven't begun a season with 13 goals in their first four matches since 1974.

Navy has had eight different players score goals thus far this season. Dave Arnold leads the team in scoring with eight points (3g, 2a). Last year's Navy's leading scorer had eight points all season.

All seven of UNCG's goals this season have been scored by freshmen and sophomores. The Spartans have scored seven goals in five games to open the season. Last year, it wasn't until the eighth match of the year – Homecoming against Charlotte – before the Spartans hit the net for the seventh time on the year.

Hakan Ilhan and Eli Garner lead the team in goals with two each. They are tied with Aaron Reifschneider (1g, 2a) in points with four.

A surprising stat for the Spartans – UNCG is 191st out of 201 teams nationally in save percentage (.563). Last year, Peyton Ford led the Southern Conference in saves with 92 and had a .793 save percentage.

UNCG will host Campbell on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. before Wake Forest visits next Saturday night for Homecoming.
