GREENSBORO, N.C. - UNC Greensboro extended its home winning streak to seven consecutive matches on Sunday, defeating Samford, 5-2, in Southern Conference men's tennis action.
Orcun Seyrek won his ninth straight singles match and ran his mark to 18-4 overall on the year, defeating Zac Dunkle at No. 1 singles, 7-5 and 6-1. He also teamed with Arsel Kumdereli for a doubles win at No. 1 doubles.
Timion Meijs also won at No. 5 singles to run his mark to 17-5 on the year, 9-1 in the spring slate. He won a pair of tiebreakers to defeat Adam Witcher.
Kumdereli, and William John also won in singles play as the Spartans moved to 9-2 overall, 2-0 in Southern Conference play.
UNCG returns to action Thursday when it hosts Coastal Carolina for a 3 p.m. match.
