Three singles, one doubles to play in championships for UNCG at UTC Baras
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – Five different Spartans will play for flight championships on Sunday at the UTC Baras Fall Classic after a successful Saturday afternoon for the UNCG men's tennis team.
Orcun Seyrek, Ahmet Sarioglu and Zach Reece will each play for singles titles on Sunday, while Yaroslav Litus and Jacob Wright will play for a doubles title.
Seyrek, the No. 1 seed in Flight 1, topped Eastern Kentucky's Hugo Klientovsky, 6-4 and 6-2 and will face John Grimal-Ferrer of Memphis in Sunday's final. Ahmet Sarioglu, seeded No. 3 in flight 3, topped Tyler Mills, 6-2 and 6-2, and will face top-seeded Carl Arbalos from Samford in the finals. Reece upset second-seeded Garrison Laduca from Samford, 6-3 and 6-3, and will take on top-seeded Cedric de Zutter from Memphis in the finals.
In doubles, Yaroslav Litus and Jacob Wright, the top-seed in Flight 2, defeated K.C. Griffin and Daniel Shidler, 8-6, and will face second-seeded Carlos Pons and Hugo Klientovsky in Sunday's final. In Flight 1, Seyrek and Chanon Varapongsittikul, who were top-seeded, lost to Carl Arbalos and Oliver Reynolds, 8-5.
