Reece and Roueche win doubles flight at Elon Invitational
ELON, N.C. – Redshirt freshman Zach Reece lost his bid for his second straight singles title, but won a doubles flight championship alongside Jimmy Roueche on the final day of action at the Elon Men's Tennis Fall Invitational.
Reece, who won a singles title last weekend at the UTC Baras Classic, lost in the Flight B2 finals to Alex Weatherall of UNC Wilmington, 6-4 and 6-2. Earlier in the day, he had teamed with Jimmy Roueche to win the Flight C doubles title, defeating Liberty's David Kwon and Benjamin Wirth, 8-6.
Chanon Varapongsittikul and Ahmet Sarioglu won the consolation finals in doubles flight A2, downing Tennessee's Max Stevens and Bryan Swartz, 8-2.
The Spartans return to action on Thursday when play begins at the ITA Regional.
