DAVIDSON, N.C. – UNCG moved to 4-0 in Southern Conference play with its sixth straight win Saturday, wrapping up a season-high four-match road swing with a 5-2 over Davidson.

The Spartans (10-3, 4-0 SoCon) won five singles matches after dropping the doubles point.

At No. 1, Orcun Seyrek cruised to a 6-2, 6-4 win over Chris Mark, while Timion Meijs rebounded from losing the first set to take a 5-7, 6-3, 6-4 win over Joe Schafer at No. 2.

Yaroslav Litus picked up a 7-6, 6-3 victory over Calum Gee at No. 3, and Ahmet Sarioglu grabbed a 6-4, 6-3 win over Walker Lyons at No. 4. Chanon Varapongsittikul knocked off Arie Hefter at No. 5, 6-2, 2-6, 6-3, for his fifth straight win.

Davidson (4-11, 0-3 SoCon) earned its lone singles win at No. 6, as Kevin Moore topped Zach Reece 1-6, 6-4, 6-3.

The Wildcats earned the doubles point on the strength of wins at Nos. 2 and 3. Ethan Kallick and Lyons dropped Litus and Jacob Wright at No. 2, 9-8, and Mark and Moore downed Varapongsittikul and Sarioglu at No. 3, 8-3.

Seyrek and Meijs rolled past Gee and Schafer at No. 1, 8-2.

The Spartans moved to 4-0 in the SoCon for the third straight season. UNCG opened league play 6-0 in 2009 and 8-0 in 2010.

UNCG returns to action Wednesday when it will host East Carolina at the UNCG Tennis Courts at 2 p.m.
