Men's Tennis Continues Fall Play at Wake Forest Invitational
Wake Forest Invitational Draws
GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNCG men's tennis program travels to Winston-Salem to compete in the Wake Forest Invitational, Friday, Oct. 12 at the Wake Forest Tennis Complex.
"I think it's time for some of these guys to improve on their results," said head coach Thomas Mozur. "We've done a pretty good job, but a bunch of guys haven't separated themselves and taken a bigger role for the team. Doubles has been exceptional. We need some guys to do the same thing in singles. Take one of these titles, one of the flights or get a bigger win. We need more impact in singles."
William Albright (Greensboro, N.C. / Grimsley), James Dougherty (Melbourne, Australia), James Flynn (Plantation, Fla. / American Heritage), Daniel Mack (Lakeland, Fla. / Lakeland), Gaston Murray (Lake Worth, Fla. / Park Vista), Randy Phillips (Snellville, Ga. / Brookwood), Jimmy Roueche (Greensboro, N.C. / Grimsley) and Cameron Smith (Jamestown, N.C. / Ragsdale) will be representing the Spartans.
Albright leads the team with a 6-2 singles record, while Dougherty and Phillips are undefeated in doubles with a 6-0 mark.
UNCG was last in action at the Chattanooga Fall Invitational Sept. 28-30. The team is currently 19-24 in singles and 16-6 in doubles for the fall.
