ROCK HILL, S.C. – Junior Ahmet Sarioglu (Ankara, Turkey / METU Development Foundation) and freshman Daniel Mack (Lakeland, Fla. / Lakeland) teamed up to take down Georgia State's Cook and Santana, 8-5 in the division two doubles consolation round at the Winthrop Fall Invitational on Saturday. 

"The guys came out and played some solid tennis," said assistant coach Brett Bernstein. "Everyone was much more focused and we were able to pull out some good wins. We hope to keep the momentum going and finish strong." 

Sarioglu also picked up a 6-3, 6-2 singles win against Asheville's Ryan Matthews in the division two consolation round, while sophomore Cameron Smith (Jamestown, N.C. / Ragsdale) fell to Steven Patrick from Winthrop, 6-3, 6-2, before beating Campbell's Van Gerwin, 6-2, 6-0. 

Freshman Gaston Murray (Lake Worth, Fla. / Park Vista) lost in a tough match against South Carolina's Harry Menzies, 7-6, 6-4 in the main draw quarterfinal round. 

Mack fell 6-2, 6-3 in consolation to Adam Knutsson from Gardner-Webb, before winning 6-0, 6-3 against USC's Ben Barnette. 

Freshman James Flynn (Plantation, Fla. / American Heritage) lost 6-1, 6-1 in consolation to Nathan Crocker from Presbyterian College, and won 6-3, 6-4 against Steven Weaver, also from Presbyterian College. 

Play at the Winthrop Fall Invitational concludes Sunday, Nov. 3, beginning at 9 a.m.
