Jeff Williams named SoCon men’s track and field athlete of the week

SPARTANBURG, SC – UNC Greensboro’s Jeff Williams has been selected the Southern Conference men’s Outdoor Track and Field athlete of the week on Wednesday.

The junior from South Plainfield, NJ won the 800 meter event at the UNC Fast Times meet last Saturday with a time of 1:52.11. He now has the two fastest times in the SoCon this spring, after running a UNCG school-record time of 1:51.63 earlier in the season at the Duke Invitational.

UNCG will take part in the SoCon Championship on April 29 and 30 in Statesboro, GA.
