SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Sophomore Joey Thompson continued his hot streak as he both broke another school record for UNC Greensboro at the prestigious Meyo Invitational on Saturday.
Graduate student Katie Hansen broke a school record of her own as well.
With both runners breaking school records last time out, they continued their impressive indoor season in their respective events.
Thompson, competing in the mile, broke the previous school record set in 2006 by over six seconds. His time of 4:10.05 was good enough for 15th place overall in the event.
Running in the 3,000 meters, Hansen broke her own school record that she set just two weeks ago by over 16 seconds. She ran a time of 9:49.42 to come in 22nd place in the 3,000.
The Spartans return to the track on Friday at the UNC Invitational in Chapel Hill, N.C.
