GREENSBORO, N.C. - Jermaine Coore set a new personal-best in the 1,500 meters for UNC Greensboro on the final day of the Wake Forest Open on Saturday afternoon.
Shaina Sumney turned in one of the fastest time in school history in the 1,500 meters for the women's team as well.
On the men's side, Jermaine Coore finished in 20th place in the 1,500 meters by running a 4:02.66. That time set a new personal-best for him by over 10 seconds.
Sumney, competing in the 1,500 meters for the first time in her career, completed the event in a time of 4:49.21. That time was good enough for the fourth-best time in school history and was just five seconds off the school record set by Katie Hansen last weekend at the UNCW Seahawk Invitational.
The Spartans will return to competition next weekend at the Raleigh Relays beginning on Friday.
