Men’s Track & Field named USTFCCCA All-Academic team
GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNCG men’s track & field team was one of 73 teams who earned the distinction of being named an All-Academic team by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), the organization announced on Monday afternoon.
In order to be eligible for this award the team must post a cumulative team GPA of 3.0 or better. The Spartans had a GPA of 3.23 this past season.
UNCG was also one of just four SoCon schools to earn the award. The other three schools were Chattanooga, Davidson and Furman.
Yale posted the highest cumulative GPA at 3.42, followed by Lipscomb at 3.39. The 3.23 cumulative GPA by UNCG was the highest mark in the SoCon and was only bested by 15 other schools in the nation.
Indiana was also announced as the Indoor Track & Field Scholar Team of the Year, while Arizona State took the honors for the outdoor season.
