2011-12 XC:  Made his 8,000 meter debut at the Elon Invite where he finished in 38^th place with a time of 27:33 (Sept 17) … set a personal best at the Panorama Farms Invite, completing the course in 27:10, to finish 73^rd overall (Oct 14) … competed in Charleston, S.C., as part of the team that captured the conference title at the 2011 Southern Conference Championships, finishing 83^rd in a time of 28:09 (Oct 29). Indoor:  Set a personal best in the 3,000m at the Hokie Invitational, running a time of 9:01.49 to finish 26^th overall (Jan 20) … ran a personal best time of 4:31.11 in the mile run at the Fast Track Invitational to finish in 25^th place overall (Feb 11). Outdoor:  Recorded an outdoor personal best time in the 3,000m at the Wake Forest Open crossing the line in 9:12.05 to finish 25^th overall (Mar 17^th) … ran a personal record time of 9:48.17 in the 3,000m steeplechase at the Duke Invitational (Apr 7) … earned All-Freshman honors in the 3,000m steeplechase at the Southern Conference Outdoor Championships finishing 12^th overall in a time of 10:03.55 (Apr 21) ... SoCon Academic Honor Roll.

High School: Ran four years at Northwood High School in Pittsboro, N.C. for coach Ron Horton … won the individual title at the 2-A Cross Country State Championship as a senior … also ran four years of indoor track where he earned all-state honors in the 4x800 meters during his junior season … named all-state in the 3,200 meters twice in outdoor track … also named all-state in outdoor track in the 4x800 meters and the 1,000 meters.
