GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNCG men's track & field program earned All-Academic status for the 2011 season by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), the organization announced on Wednesday.
The Spartans, who also earned this honor during the cross country season, were one of just four teams from the Southern Conference to earn the distinction, along with Chattanooga, Davidson and Wofford.
In order to earn the honor, the team had to maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.00 of better. A total of 90 institutions nationally earned the award.
BYU earned Scholar Team of the Year honors during the indoor season after finishing in third place at the NCAA Championships and Florida State took home the award for the outdoor season as they finished in second place at the NCAA Championships.
