UNG softball series with Appalachian State rained out

BOONE, NC - The UNC Greensboro softball teams scheduled weekend series with league rival Appalachian State has been rained out due to weather conditions in the Boone area.

The Mountaineers and Spartans were originally scheduled to play a three-game series that became a doubleheader after Saturday's twinbill was cancelled due to fog in the area. The teams were going to try to salvage two games of the series with a doubleheader this afternoon but the rain and cold temperatures left the field unplayable. UNCG and Appalachian State won't reschedule the league series.

UNCG returns to the diamond on Tuesday when they head to Radford, VA, for a doubheader with Radford. First pitch is scheduled for 4 pm. The Spartans will return to UNCG Softball Stadium April 5-6 when they host Western Carolina for a weekend series.
