BOGOTA, Colombia – Incoming UNCG freshman Katelyn Bedwell and the Canadian Junior Women's National Team topped Argentina 6-3 at the III Pan American Championship on Sunday.
Canada rallied from a 2-0 deficit against Argentina to rebound from Saturday's 3-1 loss to Brazil.
After Argentina scored twice in the top of the first, Canada answered with a pair of runs in its half to even the score. Argentina took advantage of a two-out error in the top of the second to make it 3-2, but Canada again found the equalizer in the bottom half of the second.
Canada took the lead in the third inning, with Bedwell sacrificing a runner from second to third with no one out to set up what would prove to be the winning run.
Canada added two more runs in the sixth to put the game away.
Bedwell also had a single in the game as Canada evened its record at the tournament at 1-1.
Canada is back in action Tuesday against host country Colombia at 4 p.m. Eastern time.
