Aisha Figueroa Pan Am Games blog 2: First days in Mexico
UNCG sophomore third baseman Aisha Figueroa will be playing with Puerto Rico's full national softball team at the XVI Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico, from Oct. 17-23. Every few days, Figueroa will check in with UNCGSpartans.com for a blog on how the trip is going, from the days leading up to the tournament to the games themselves. Below is her second entry.
So, it has been really busy for me since I have gotten to Mexico. First day I got to Mexico, we finally got to the villas at about 3 a.m., and I did not make it into bed until around 4 a.m. Fortunately, we had the next day off. The following day we had practice in the morning and then had a scrimmage game against Canada. We ended in a tie with Canada 1-1. Then today (Sunday), we had another morning practice and played a scrimmage against Venezuela. We ended up losing to them, unfortunately, 4-3. Now tomorrow (Monday) the real games begin! We play two games, one against Canada again, and then Dominican Republic!
