NORTH CHARLESTON, SC – UNC Greensboro’s backcourt of Jasmine Byrd and Kristen Boone were among 10 players named Tuesday to the 2006-07 All-Southern Conference Women’s Basketball squad as selected by the league’s coaches.
The Spartans and Chattanooga each placed two players on the squad, while Western Carolina placed three players on the team. Byrd and Boone were joined on the squad by Chattanooga’s Alex Anderson and Laura Hall, Davidson’s Kate Hamilton, Georgia Southern’s Tiffany Brown, and the Western Carolina trio of Monique Dawson, Chevon Keith and Lauren Powell.
Named to the all-freshman squad were Appalachian State’s Gigi Thomas, Chattanooga’s Jenaya Wade-Fray, Elon’s Tiffany Davis, Georgia Southern’s Carolyn Whitney and Western Carolina’s Heather Swayne.
