Stevenson named to Surf 'N Slam Classic All-Tournament Team

SAN DIEGO – UNCG sophomore forward Janae' Stevenson was named to the all-tournament team of the San Diego Surf 'N Slam Classic at the conclusion of the tournament Friday.

Stevenson averaged 8.5 points and 7.0 rebounds per game in UNCG's two contests. The Columbia, S.C., native scored six points and had a team-best eight rebounds in the Spartans' 57-29 loss to tournament host San Diego State on Tuesday. She followed that up with a team-high 11 points and six boards the following day against Penn. Stevenson matched her career high with two assists in the 47-36 loss to the Quakers.

Stevenson blocked a shot in each game, pushing her career total to 51 and moving her into eighth place in school history.

UNCG is off until Jan. 7, when it will face Western Carolina in Cullowhee, N.C., to wrap up a six-game road swing.
