Michigan tops UNCG in women's golf match play
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Michigan won three of the five afternoon singles matches on its way to a match-play victory over UNC Greensboro, 5-1/2 to 2-1/2 on Saturday.
Amy Schmucker gave the Wolverines a pair of points, winning with Ali Stinson in the morning in doubles best ball and defeating Ashley Mylton in singles action.
UNCG’s Jenna Schmidt picked up a convincing win in singles play, winning 4-up over Stinson. UNCG also got a win from the duo of Gabby DiMora and Brittany Hofmeister in doubles play.
The Spartans co-host the Bryan National, one of the top college women’s golf tournament in the country, beginning Friday at Bryan Park Golf Club.
