UNCG tied for ninth after day one of Wildcat Invitational women’s golf tournament

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Florida holds a six stroke lead after day one at the Wildcat Invitational women’s golf tournament after two rounds of play.  North Carolina and tournament host Kentucky are tied for second while UNC Greensboro is tied for ninth after 36 holes. 

Florida’s Mallory Blackwelder is the tournament’s overall leader at five-under-par after shooting a 139 (68, 71) at the par-72, 6,003 yard course.  Ashley Mylton and Ashley Parrott paced the Spartans as the duo is tied for 23rd after each fired a two-round total of 153. 

Senior Jenna Schmidt is tied for 33rd after shooting a 154 (76, 78) and sophomore Gabby DiMora also made the top 50 with a 47th place finish, shooting rounds of 82 and 76 to finish the opening day with a 158. 

Tournament action concludes Sunday.
