Mylton's third Top 20 finish helps UNCG to 13th place at Baja Classic

BAJA, MEXICO – Junior Ashley Mylton fired two rounds of 77 to finish in a tie for 15th place as UNC Greensboro finished 13th at the Baja Classic women’s golf tournament.

The Charlotte, NC native recorded her third Top 20 of the season and her 11th in 27 career collegiate tournaments.

The tournament was shortened to 36 holes after Monday’s play was plagued with delays. The first round was delayed at the start by fog. The second round was then suspended by darkness and tournament officials determined that there would not be enough time on Tuesday to complete the second round and play Tuesday’s third round to completion.

Oregon’s Kimberly McCready won the tournament, shooting rounds of 70 and 75 to finish at one-over-par 145. She won by five shots over a quartet of players. Oregon also won the team championship with a score of 609, four shots better than Louisville. UNCG finished 13th with a score of 643 after carding rounds of 316 and 327.

UNCG returns to action March 5 and 6 at the Pinehurst Challenge on Pinehurst No. 8.
