Mylton earns third career Top 10 finish and 54-hole best as UNCG places ninth

GREENVILLE, N.C. – Ashley Mylton carded a final round 78 to record her third career Top 10 finish and a 54-hole personal best to lead UNC Greensboro to a ninth place finish at the Lady Pirate Women’s Golf Invitational hosted by East Carolina at Bradford Creek Golf Course.

Mylton, a junior from Charlotte, NC who held a share of the lead entering Sunday’s final round, finished in a tie for 10th as golfers battled deteriorating weather conditions throughout the day. Her 54-hole total of 221 was a college career best.

East Tennessee State’s Laura Jansone and Birmingham Southern’s Sara Hunt finished tied for first, but a playoff for the individual honors was cancelled due to the weather.

Birmingham Southern took the team honors, recording a team total of 880. Maryland was second at 885, followed by Augusta State at 887. UNCG finished ninth with a team score of 905. The Spartans shot 308 as a team on Sunday. 

UNCG returns to action on Friday when it begins play at the prestigious Landfall Tradition in Wilmington, NC.
