UNCG signs Erica Creed to women's golf NLI
GREENBSORO, NC – UNC Greensboro women’s golf coach Emily Marron announced the signing of local product Erica Creed to a National Letter of Intent to enroll at the university next fall.
Creed was the 2006 Metro 4A Conference Player of the Year and Tournament Champion. A native of Kernersville, NC, Creed attends Northwest High School where she has been named the team’s Most Valuable Player and earned all-conference all four years.
“I am so excited about Erica joining our program,” said Marron. “I can't say enough good things about her. She is an extremely talented golfer and the kind of person everyone enjoys being around. She spent several weeks ranked as the top player in North Carolina, and is a Top 100 player nationally. Erica's work ethic is second to none, and I am sure she can make an immediate impact on our program.”
As a junior golfer, Creed won the 2005 and 2006 Ballantyne Resort Junior Open and the 2006 North Carolina Junior (EJGA) Championship. She was an All-Carolinas honoree in 2005 and was ranked as the top North Carolina Junior Girl last summer. She is currently third in the North Carolina Junior girl rankings, recording Top 10 finishes in all 13 tournaments she has played in during the last year. Most recently, she was fifth at the North Carolina High School Athletic Association’s Class 4A Championship.
