Spartans 10th after two rounds at Sun Trust Lady Gator Invitiational

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Freshman Erica Creed hung tough with a 74 to lead UNC Greensboro and sit in a tie for 28th after two rounds at the SunTrust Lady Gator Intercollegiate on Saturday.

The Spartans are 10th after two rounds, shooting 301 on Saturday for a two-day total of 613. Creed is sitting at a team-best 150 after two rounds. Tournament host Florida leads the tournament at 563, giving the Lady Gators a 13-shot lead over Louisville after 36 holes. Mississippi is third at 585.

Creed shot 39 on the front side, one better than she did on Friday. She birdied No. 10, bogeyed No. 12 and was par the rest of the way for the Spartans to finish a team-low 74. Florida’s Tiffany Chudy is the individual leader after 36 holes, shooting a 70 on Saturday. She has a two-shot lead over Louisville’s Cindy LaCrosse and Florida’s Whitney Myers and Jessica Yadlczky.

Sunday's action gets under way with an 8:30 shotgun start.
