UNCG eighth after two rounds at Lady Seahawk

WALLACE, N.C. – Erica Creed and Annelie Weimenhog are both tied for 25th to lead UNC Greensboro after the first day of competition at the UNCW Lady Seahawk Classic on Monday.

Creed carded rounds of 80 and 76 on the par-72, 6,165-yard course at River Landing GC. Weimenhog shot a 79 in the morning and then came back with a 77 on the afternoon loop.

Elon’s Danielle Mills sits atop the individual leaderboard with a five-shot lead. She shot even par in the morning and then came back to shoot a 68 in the afternoon – one of just two rounds that were under par on the day. UNC Wilmington’s Ashley Tait had the other with a 71 in the afternoon.

East Carolina holds the team lead through two rounds with a score of 598. The Pirates have a two-shot lead over Elon and five-shot advantage of East Tennessee State. The Spartans are in eighth place in the 12-team field with a score of 624.

The final round of the 54-hole event gets under way Tuesday with a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m.
