UNCG fifth, Aidemark 10th after two rounds at SoCon

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – UNC Greensboro’s Sofia Aidemark shot a second round 74 to move up 22 places into a tie for 10th place entering Tuesday’s final round of the Southern Conference Women’s Golf Championship at Moss Creek GC.
 
The Spartans are in fifth place with a score of 641 after a second round total of 322. Defending champion Furman leads the team standings at 611, 21 shots better than second-place Chattanooga. College of Charleston is third at 637, followed by Elon with 638 and UNCG.

Aidemark went out in 38 and played the back side of the course in an even-par 36. Her 74 was the second best score of the day, one shot behind individual leader Stefanie Kenoyer of Furman.

Kenoyer leads the field at 149, two shots beter than teammate Jackie Hiela and Chattanooga’s Maria Salinas. Aidemark is eight shots back in a tie for 10t h place, while Erica Creed is in 14th place after a second round 81 to put her at 158 after 36 holes.

Tuesday’s final round gets underway with tee times off Nos. 1 and 10 beginning at 8 am. UNCG will begin play off No. 1 in the 8 am group.
