GREENSBORO, N.C. - UNC Greensboro women's golfer Sofia Aidemark was named to the ESPN Magazine CoSIDA Academic All-District at-large squad on Thursday.
Earning her second straight first-team all-district selection, Aidemark will now be eligible for the national All-America ballot later this month. The voting is done by sports information directors on a regional and national level.
A senior from Laholm, Sweden, she graduated with a 3.97 GPA in Communications. The university's first international student to be inducted into Phi Beta Kappa last month, Aidemark earned Dean's List six out of her first seven semesters at UNCG and Chancellor's List each of the first five semesters she was eligible for it. Those honors haven't been announced for the spring 2010 semester as of yet.
Athletically, Aidemark had a 77.72 stroke average in 32 rounds this season. She finished 11th at the Southern Conference Championship last month. Her best finish of the year came at the UNCG Starmount Fall Classic, when she finished 10th.
