GREENSBORO, N.C. - UNC Greensboro women's golf coach Emily Marron announced Monday the signing of Clayton, N.C., product Lizzie Bundy during the recent National Letter of Intent signing period.
Bundy is a senior at Clayton HS, where she is a three-time conference Most Valuable Player and four-time all-conference and all-region selection. Ranked sixth in the Carolina Golf Association rankings, she has finished in the top five at the North Carolina 4A state high school championship three times. She placed second in both the Big "I" National Tournament in Ardmore, Okla. and the 2009 North Carolina Junior Championship.
"I am really excited to have Lizzie join our program next year," said Marron. "She has developed into a really strong player over the past year and can surely step in right away and help us. Lizzie is one of the longest players I have seen and that power will help her tremendously at the college level. We look forward to having Lizzie and her parents as part of our UNCG family."
The Spartans resume the 2009-10 season on March 1 at the UCF Tournament in Orlando, Fla.
