Bundy shoots final round 73, UNCG finishes 17th at Cougar Classic
HANAHAN, S.C. – UNCG freshman Lizzie Bundy capped off her first collegiate tournament with a team-best 73 in Tuesday's final round as the Spartans finished tied for 17th place at the Cougar Classic on Tuesday.
Bundy bounced back from a tough round on Monday to record her second 73 of the tournament to finish tied for 53rd place. Mississippi's Natalie Gleadall rallied to win the individual title, shooting a final round 67 for a two shot win over North Carolina's Jackie Chang.
North Carolina won the team title, carding a final round 280 to win the tournament with a 54-hole total of 860. Mississippi finished second, eight shots back, followed by Oklahoma. UNCG finished with a final total of 921.
The Spartans return to action Sept. 26 when they host the UNCG Starmount Fall Classic.
