Cnops named SoCon Golfer of the Week

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – UNCG freshman Fanny Cnops has been selected as the Southern Conference Women's Golfer of the Week for all competition from March 7-13.

Cnops was the top SoCon finisher at the JMU/Eagle Landing Invitational in Jacksonville, Fla., finishing the 54-hole event in seventh place out of 101 competitors.

The freshman from Gent, Belgium, carded a three-under-par 69 in round two while completing the tournament at two over par (218). The second-round score was her fifth round in the 60s this season.

Cnops has now placed in the top 10 in six consecutive events. She leads the conference with a 71.95 stroke average.

UNCG next plays at the Pinehurst Challenge, March 19-20 in Pinehurst, N.C.
