UNCG finishes second in Commissioner's Cup, fifth in Germann Cup
CHARLESTON, S.C. – After a 2010-11 academic year that saw UNCG turn in competitive showings in virtually every sport, the Spartans finished second in the race for the Commissioner’s Cup and fifth in the extremely tight standings for the Germann Cup, the Southern Conference all-sports trophies for excellence in league competition.

Four Spartans tabbed for All-SoCon team, including Freshman of the Year
SPARTANBURG, S.C. –Freshman Caylor Williams earned Freshman of the Year honors and was tabbed All-Conference for his season at the 197-pound weight class. Manny Ramirez (125 pounds), Jamel Johnson (133), and No. 16 Ivan Lopouchanski (149) joined Williams on the All-Conference team as the Spartans led the conference representing four of the 10 weight classes, the Southern Conference announced on Tuesday morning.

Lopouchanski breaks record as UNCG rolls in doubleheader
GREENSBORO, N.C. – Senior Byron Sigmon and No. 16 Ivan Lopouchanski led UNCG to a sweep on Tuesday as the Spartans downed Gardner-Webb, 37-6, at Gardner-Webb in the afternoon. After a two-hour trip back, UNCG flattened Campbell, 38-4, at Fleming Gymnasium on Tuesday evening.

The UNCG wrestling team will look to end the regular season on a high note as it will participate in a unique day-night doubleheader. The UNCG wrestling team will enjoy its holiday weekend by traveling to Bloomington, Ind. for the Hoosier Duals on Saturday in Assembly Hall.
